Southwest

Modernized systems, built to
scale and ready for takeoff.

We helped Southwest bring cybersecurity and data analytics to new heights.

As one of the largest airlines in North America, Southwest Airlines is always growing—and so are their tech needs. To provide best-in-class experiences for their millions of customers, they partner with us to modernize cloud security and enterprise observability—building scalable, data-driven platforms that improve resilience, accelerate decision-making, and support growth.

We helped them focus on high-impact projects, avoid unnecessary complexity, and accelerate critical digital initiatives while keeping costs under control. By designing a clear, outcome-driven product roadmap that prioritized the highest-value improvements first, we delivered results quickly without disrupting ongoing operations.

Enhanced visibility, increased resilience.

As Southwest expanded its cloud footprint, security management grew more complex. Data flowed through disconnected tools, point-to-point integrations multiplied, and threat monitoring became harder. We aligned architecture, development, and security teams around a cloud-native security model. Centralized data and streamlined workflows eliminated manual investigation steps and reduced noise, allowing security teams to focus on what truly mattered. Ticket response efficiency increased, significantly improving readiness and resilience across the cloud environment.

As product owners for their AWS Security Lake initiative, our strategic leadership and roadmap definition helped shape a cloud-native security model. Through our leadership, we worked with teams to centralize security data, improve visibility, and strengthen governance. The result? A more flexible security foundation built for Southwest's long-term cloud strategy.

Built for rapid security responses.

We reimagined Southwest Airlines' enterprise observability with a scalable, cloud-first platform designed for speed and impact. Livefront led an agile-driven evolution, accelerating the project timeline by increasing development capacity and optimizing workflows. Our engineers supported Southwest's migration from on-premise to cloud-hosted deployment, improving resilience while maintaining feature parity. The new framework streamlined infrastructure deployment and standardized telemetry to deliver visibility, ensuring that Southwest's future-ready observability ecosystem is built to grow with the business.

Crucial data takes flight.

It takes a village to power an organization as large as Southwest. With 70,000 employees, they needed modern, scalable systems for enterprise data management. We embedded engineers directly into Southwest Airlines' team to migrate finance, payroll, HR, legal, and supply chain data from on-premises to a cloud data warehouse. We also helped execute a project to optimize data pipelines, creating a more reliable and cost-efficient foundation for analytics and reporting.

[Livefront has] been phenomenal, combining deep technical knowledge with vast Cybersecurity industry experience.

Better gate assignments. Smoother operations.

When it comes to flying, speed is key. The command center employees who assign gates raced to collect data about crew locations, available gate services, and passenger luggage from disparate systems. Our product designers helped reimagine and streamline that workflow, leading to faster, better gate assignments.

We assisted with a user-centered design process, collaborating closely with Southwest stakeholders to understand workflows and pain points. Our efforts led to a new application that centralized flight data, crew locations, gate services, and baggage details into a single view. Interactive dashboards, visual status indicators, and sandbox testing empowered teams to make quicker, more accurate decisions. Greater efficiency and improved turn time reliability let Southwest deliver the best experience for customers.
